या कुन्देन्दुतुषारहारधवला या शुभ्रवस्त्रावृत
या वीणावरदण्डमण्डितकरा या श्वेतपद्मासना।
या ब्रह्माच्युत शंकरप्रभृतिभिर्देवैः सदा वन्दिता
सा मां पातु सरस्वती भगवती निःशेषजाड्यापहा॥
शुक्लां ब्रह्मविचार सार परमामाद्यां जगद्व्यापिनीं
वीणा-पुस्तक-धारिणीमभयदां जाड्यान्धकारापहाम्।
हस्ते स्फटिकमालिकां विदधतीं पद्मासने संस्थिताम्
वन्दे तां परमेश्वरीं भगवतीं बुद्धिप्रदां शारदाम्॥२॥
Through out India, today is the most auspicious day of Shree Panchami (Fith Lunar Day of Magha Masa). On this day the idol of Devi Saraswati is worshiped by all (specially childrens, students, teachers, gurus and all those who are related with education, Arts, Music or any kind of holistic and divine studies including Jyotisha, Tantra-Mantra-Sadhana and Dharma Shastra.
On this day The first initiation of Education of every children are done before the Goddes Saraswati by Offering flowers and Writing letters on a slate with Chalk. On this day all Hindus observe fast and perform Holy Pushpanjaly (Flower offering) before the Goddes Devi Saraswati. All Schools, Colleges, Arts & Music Centers and educational Institutions etc. organize Saraswati Puja or worship Books, Musical Instruments etc. on this day with great devotion, love, reverence and respect.
Let us all bow before this great deity of Education, Knowledge, Wisdom and Intelligence, Speech, Art and Music.
Saraswati Puja is one of the most important Vedic festivals.The above given text in Sanskrit is a popular song of prayer to praise, pray and ask for blessings of Devi Saraswati. You Can Chant this mantra before the beginning of your studies, Learning and imparting any type of education. Students are advised to Chant this song facing north-east direction before beginning his/her studies.
