The Bahai Temple (Lotus) in Delhi, India was committed in December 1986, having been finished for a complete expense $10 million. It is famous as the most modern architectural Shrine in India and the Indian sub-continent. It has won various architectural honours and prestigious awards, and been highlighted in numerous papers and magazines articles. In India, during the Hindu festival of Durga Puja sevaral pandals has been made imitating the Lotus Temple.

The architect of Lotus Temple was an Iranian, who currently lives in Canada, named Fariborz Sahba. Roused by the lotus bloom, its plan is made out of 27 unsupported, marble-clad "petals" organized in bunches of three to shape nine sides. Nine entry ways are open on to a focal lobby, fit for holding up to 2,500 individuals. Somewhat in excess of 40 meters tall, its surface sparkling white marble, the Temple on occasion appears to glide over its 26-section of land (105,000 Sq. Mtr.) with nine encompassing ponds. The temple is situated in the town of Bahapur, in the public region of Delhi. The significant piece of the finances expected to purchase this land was given by Ardishír Rustampúr from Hyderabad, Sindh (Pakistan), who donated all his life time savings and funds for constructing this temple in 1953. This temple is Loved by millions of visitors and popularly known as the "Lotus Temple of Delhi” among the Bahais and Non-Bahais of the World.
